MOTS-c

MOTS-c is a novel mitochondrial-derived peptide of 16 amino acids encoded within the mitochondrial DNA. Unlike most peptides that target surface receptors, MOTS-c works primarily on metabolic pathways, functioning as a metabolic regulator that improves insulin sensitivity and glucose metabolism.
