Peptide detail

Selank

Selank is a synthetic peptide developed in Russia, derived from the endogenous tetrapeptide tuftsin with an added stabilizing sequence. Originally developed as an immune modulator, Selank has gained recognition for its anxiolytic (anti-anxiety) and nootropic (cognitive-enhancing) properties without causing sedation or addiction. It works by modulating brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and serotonin levels while inhibiting enkephalin-degrading enzymes, which prolongs the effects of endorphins and enkephalins in the brain. This mechanism provides anxiety relief without the sedation, dependence, or cognitive impairment associated with benzodiazepines. Selank has been shown to improve learning and memory formation, enhance focus and attention, reduce anxiety and stress, and potentially boost immune function. Its balanced effects on cognition and mood, combined with an excellent safety profile and lack of addiction potential, make it a valuable tool for treating anxiety disorders while preserving or enhancing cognitive function.
